Biography of Rodney Matthews (a.k.a. Uncle Lump)
Rodney G. Matthews, President of RGM Incorporated, was born and raised in Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Business Administration. In 1992, he founded RGM in Bethesda, Maryland, initially focusing on graphic and print production. His first clients were advertising agencies and design firms.
In 1996, Rodney expanded RGM’s services by becoming a prime federal contractor, providing expertise in graphics, Section 508 compliance, and training/help desk support. RGM achieved HUBZone certification in 2020, marking another milestone in the company’s growth. Today, the company continues to evolve by embracing artificial intelligence to enhance automation in areas such as 508 compliance, graphics, editing, and more.
Rodney has been married since 1992 and is the proud father of two accomplished adult children.
Uncle Lump
Rodney made his television debut in 2016, appearing in the very first episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Introduced by his niece, Real Housewife Ashley Darby, Rodney became affectionately known to viewers as “Uncle Lump”—a childhood nickname that stuck.
Since then, Uncle Lump has become a beloved figure among fans, often serving as Ashley’s trusted advisor and voice of reason on the show.
